(Ecclesiasticus 38:4) "And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine."   (Ezekiel 47:12) ". . .as Haoma is the plant of eternal life, it is but natural that one of his first priests should have been the first healer." (Vendidad, Fargard XX, page 226) FOUNDATION OF THE CHURCH OF COGNIZANCE 1. In 1994 we recorded our intent to unite, as a multi-denominational Ethno-Socio-Religious Institute, a previously unrecognized Ethnic Minority that utilizes/relies upon cannabis religiously. Explaining that we follow Neo-Zoroastrian tenets. Reasoning that the Zoroastrian scripture, the Avesta, were the least convoluted as well as most ancient source of beliefs and practices in accordance with our own. 2.  The Avesta of Zoroastrianism declares that "no wily priest are needed", inferring that Haoma, (aka cannabis) questions the user direct! It provokes thought! For this reason we have no "wily priest"; leaders in our organization are known as Enlightened Cogniscenti (EC), we do not want to do the thinking for others, whom themselves have a perfectly good mind. We seek only to enlighten others of seemingly hidden truths that we have discovered. 3.  We have looked into various methods of organization for our church, in a way that maintains "separation of church and state".  Some may assert that organizing a church as a "corporation sole" isn't as bad as organizing a church as a non-profit 501c3 tax-exempt religious corporation. But such an argument is just quibbling over different shades of gray. A "corporate sole" church cannot be supported and defended biblically, any more so than can the non-profit incorporated church. They are both corporations, brought into existence by the State, regulated by the State, and made subordinate to the State. They "render unto Caesar" that which should never be relegated under the authority of the State to govern, regulate or render.  This is why we remain a "Free Church". Established and concretized through our public recording of the creation of The Church Of Cognizance in 1994; that the world may be aware of our form of existence. 4. A democracy that recognizes only man made laws perforce obliterates the concept of Liberty as a divine right. 5. Sovereignty itself is, of course, not subject to law, for it is the author and source of law; but in our system, while sovereign powers are delegated to the agencies of government, sovereignty itself remains with the people, by whom and for whom all government exists and acts. And the law is the definition and limitation of power. Yick Wo v.
